Chapter 920 — Alice Is Coming (Part 1)

"That, of course, can be arranged," Sun Ce said. "I do not have any of those high-tech weapons, but fitting a flying saucer with the arms we already have should be a fairly simple matter."

"Then that is excellent!" Yang Yuting nodded, heaving a sigh of relief. "Many thanks, Grandpa Sun. We shall be counting on you for this."

"Ha ha, think nothing of it, nothing of it!" Sun Ce said with a smile.

With all of that settled, Yang Ce finally breathed easy. He then laid out his plan for Dong Jun, so that the man might set his mind at rest as well.

"Oh? If Grandpa Sun can lend us a flying saucer, that would be wonderful!" Dong Jun had never ridden in a flying saucer—he had only heard of them—yet his heart had long yearned for the experience. In all his years, he had never once set foot in one!

"Yes, with a saucer we shall have some measure of confidence. Otherwise, I truly fear Dr. Ban Lin's people might strike straight at my hometown and do harm to my family and friends!" Yang Yanzhou said.

"By the way, Xiao Ai is coming," Dong Jun said suddenly.

"Xiao Ai? Who is Xiao Ai?" Yang Puqi was stunned, not quite catching on.

"Xiao Ai is my sister Alice..." Dong Jun was taken aback as well, but he hurried to explain. "I have always been in the habit of calling her Xiao Ai. You are probably not familiar with the name."

"Oh... Alice..." Yang Ce mused for a moment. "Was she not in Songjiang City before? Did she not go off to Songjiang City Engineering University?"

At the mention of Alice, Yang Juehuan felt an inexplicable warmth rise in his heart. He thought of those days in Europe, of the time he had spent with Alice—though the two of them had been pitting wits and courage against each other every single day, the atmosphere had been incomparably lovely and ambiguous, as though they were lovers.

And Alice had said, over and over, that she liked him and meant to pursue him. Now, when she saw him again, what would the situation be like?

Back then, Yang Yongjin had known of the relationship between Alice and Dong Jun, and had meant to use Alice as a thread to dig out the **oss** behind it all. That was why, when Alice came to study at Songjiang City Engineering University, Yang Ce had raised no obstacle—otherwise, given his connections in Songjiang City, Alice could never have established herself there so easily, rich merchant's daughter though she was.

Only later did Yang Ce surmise what Dong Jun's trouble was, and Alice ceased to matter so much. Then, when Dong Jun admitted it with his own lips, and Alice was indeed his sister, Yang Duoran no longer pursued the matter.

Alice had simply been doing Dong Jun's bidding all along. Yang Shuoxuan had no need to investigate her any further.

But this left Yang Ce and Alice in a rather awkward position. Alice had tried to seduce Yang Ce many times, and her expressions, her tone, even her movements had all been utterly convincing—but now that the scheme behind it had been exposed, could the two of them still face each other with composure?

And so Yang Puqi had never gone to meet Alice again, nor paid her any particular attention. There was, in all of this, a certain measure of awkwardness.

After all, Yang Shuoxuan was a normal man. Though at the time he had refused Alice to her face and spoken coldly to her, deep down he had still harbored the thought of tasting her lips—after all, during the time they had spent together, Alice had come to seduce him whenever she had a spare moment, and even a heart of iron would have been moved. "She had originally gone to find you, but after you returned to Songjiang City you scarcely attended a few days of school before running off again. Xiao Ai found it dull to stay on at the school, so she simply went back to Europe," Dong Jun said with a bitter smile.

Yang Xutang was not much surprised. After all, Alice had gone to Songjiang City for the sake of finding him, Yang Juehuan. Since he was no longer at the school, what use was there in her staying? Her return to Europe was only natural.

"So that is how it was." Yang Yuting nodded. "Ha ha, back then I did not know she was your sister. Had I known, I would have followed her lead and taken her up on it."

"Pfft... cough, cough!" Dong Jun broke into a fit of coughing at Yang Juehuan's words. "Yang Ce, must you always say such shocking things... Though Xiao Ai does seem to like you, you cannot simply force yourself on her. I have only the one sister—do not go giving her some psychological trauma!"

Seem to like you? Dong Jun's words stirred something faintly in Yang Lanxu. It seemed Alice had not been purely putting on an act! But "seem" was hardly proof of anything. This matter would require further study.

"Ha ha, it is not as serious as you make it out to be. Zhiyun did not suffer any psychological trauma either, did she?" Yang Xutang laughed. "Besides, I was only joking. You took it seriously."

"When it concerns my sister's lifelong happiness, how could I not take it seriously?" Dong Yan said. "The reason I had her come was precisely so that she would not have regrets for the rest of her life!"

"You had her come?" Yang Ce was instantly taken aback.

"Er..." Dong Jun had let it slip by accident and was suddenly rather embarrassed. "It is true, I did have her come. The truth is, in Xiao Ai's heart, she probably does like you. Now that my sister and I are about to be free, I did not want her to have regrets in the days to come, so I called her here. And lately there happens to be no other woman at your side—which has created a fine opportunity for Xiao Ai."

"You do not know that when I had Xiao Ai send assassins to intercept you, something always went slightly wrong each time? My guess is that Xiao Ai deliberately botched it to let you off. Think about it—sending a sniper to kill Huang Yan at close range, is that even plausible?"
