Chapter 199 — The Bugs Finally Evolve

In fact, it wasn't only butterflies. Various moths, beetles, and bees were also breaking out of their cocoons. In all their myriad forms they vied in splendor with the other pet beasts, and Cocoon Valley suddenly reached its most flourishing scene; every creature broke free in its own way, a sight of the highest spectacle.

Unfortunately, the powerful evolved forms were too many. Even butterflies of high-tier Commander races numbered in the thousands here, and not a single evolved form could seize everyone's gaze.

"My Golden Wing Gu has finished evolving too."

Miao Dongdong's eyes immediately locked onto her own Golden Wing Gu, the size of a fingernail, among the ten thousand butterflies. Because of the peculiar nature of Gu insects, its body was tiny; though it had reached a high-tier Commander race, it didn't cause much of a stir. Still, Miao Dongdong was overjoyed, communicating with the Golden Wing Gu and learning of its condition.

Nearly all the beastmasters whose beasts had finished evolving were sensing their pet beasts' new power.

"Next, the insect-type domain is about to welcome another surge." In the sky, taking in this scene, the Legend Hua Xiajin still wore her smile, then turned her gaze to the few pet beasts still within their cocoons.

At this moment...

Only a very few insect cocoons remained on the ground.

Some of the beastmasters whose beasts had already completed their evolution shifted their gazes from the sky down to the earth.

At this point, those who still had not evolved: had they failed, or were they still accumulating evolutionary potential?

"Where is your insect cocoon?" Miao Dongdong asked beside Shi Jin.

Shi Jin watched the distance in silence.

He knew that Buggy was still absorbing the Butterfly God's power of eclosion.

Like a wolf that could never be fed enough...

By now, because so few insect cocoons remained, everyone had noticed a strange phenomenon.

"Holy shit!!"

"Holy shit!!!"

Suddenly someone shouted, and their eyes went wide as they stared in shock at the ground, at that white insect cocoon that kept moving.

While all the other cocoons lay quietly in place, one cocoon was actually hovering and running at low altitude!

Its target seemed to be places where the power of eclosion was denser; each time the energy around it grew thin, it would immediately roll off to another spot!

"What is that!"

What made tens of thousands of beastmasters' eyes go widest was that this cocoon, too, had—goddamn it—eyes.

Not only eyes, but awareness; it was going everywhere absorbing the residual power of eclosion.

"Huh? That's a Green Silk cocoon too?"

"Whose is it... so is this an evolution or not? Or did the evolution fail and turn into this mess?"

At this moment, looking at this bizarre cocoon, most people were stunned, finding it absurd.

"Damn, that cocoon." Miao Dongdong's eyes went wide as well. What the hell.

The next second, he looked at the calm Shi Jin beside him and gave a violent start.

His mouth fell slightly open, and a bad premonition stirred in him.

"Don't tell me that cocoon is yours."

Shi Jue spoke, because at this moment he sensed Buggy's inner thoughts.

At this moment, Buggy was heading toward places thick with the power of eclosion, absorbing energy that was rarely obtainable—energy that could be perfectly absorbed even in cocoon form—while lifting its head to look at the Divine Feather Phoenix Butterfly in the sky.

Is this all? Is this all? Is this all...

Butterfly God, let me see where your limit lies!!!

Divine Feather Phoenix Butterfly: ?

After so long, even while tending to the hundred thousand cocoons of the Divine Feather Mountains at once, the Butterfly God ought to have noticed Buggy's abnormality.

It watched Buggy in silence, somewhat puzzled.

Seeing this freak nearly made the Butterfly God think its own beastmaster had returned and bred some strange new species again.

"It seems to have drawn no small amount of attention; by now plenty of people must be wondering who its beastmaster is." In the sky, Hua Che watched the show quietly.

Those who still had not broken out of their cocoons at this point should all have king-level potential.

Countless people were drawn to Buggy, but before long, the creatures that began breaking out of their cocoons afterward diverted their attention.

The space-attribute Sky Crystal Butterfly, the yin-yang butterfly of united light and darkness, the Ice-Fire Twin Butterfly that birthed two bodies from a single evolution, the Lurking Spirit Butterfly that abandoned its body to become a spirit, the Elemental Spirit Butterfly that took form as an elemental life—evolutionary forms whose races could all be called quasi-king level emerged one after another in this moment.

Under the Butterfly God's blessing, it would be no exaggeration to call their races low-tier king races now.

The masters of these evolutionary forms had kept their eyes on their own pets all along, unmoved by that freak cocoon, and when their pets evolved, smiles spread across their faces.

In this moment, the Butterfly Transformation Valley teemed with strange phenomena.

Yet just as these butterflies with king-level potential were about to unfurl their own brilliance, a far vaster aura erupted.

From within a cocoon lying quietly somewhere, a phoenix cry suddenly rang out!!!

And then, all around this cocoon, the world transformed in an instant: terrifying frost immediately froze the silver earth, as if fashioning an even more silver-clad world of ice and snow!

In an instant, with it as the center, everything within a radius of several hundred meters became a domain of ice and snow!

Such a tremendous change instantly drew everyone's attention; the phenomena of this evolution completely overshadowed the other cocoons of evolutionary forms, and in a heartbeat it became the focus of all eyes!

"What happened?"

Countless people stared at this cocoon in disbelief.

That surge just now...

"This aura." Legend Hua Xiajin's gaze swept into the crowd and landed on a girl in a blue gown, surrounded by countless people.

She was in her early twenties, cold and beautiful in appearance, watching the changes on the field like an ice-queen beauty.

"Time to evolve, Ice Phoenix Moth." At this moment, no matter how cold her temperament, as that insect cocoon began to change, she still revealed a faint smile.

This stage must have been prepared for her.

Ten years ago, her mother had discovered the evolution method for the Overlord-race Ice Phoenix Moth, and her name spread throughout the world.

And today, she would use the evolution method her mother had researched to win the Butterfly God's recognition and become a powerful woman like Legend Hua Xiajin!

"She's Dr. Zuo Jiangyun's daughter." Hua Xiajin quickly recognized the origin of this insect cocoon and its beastmaster, and could not help but smile.

Amid a tremendously vast momentum, the Ice Phoenix Moth soon broke out of its cocoon in the world of ice and snow.

It did not even need the Butterfly God's blessing; relying on transcendent-grade insect silk and ice phoenix materials, it could already evolve into a true Overlord race. Now, with the Butterfly God's blessing as well, this Ice Phoenix Moth's potential would only be higher, reaching mid-grade Overlord or even high-grade Overlord race!

Amid phoenix cries and swirling wind and snow, what broke out of the cocoon next seemed not a butterfly but a phoenix. However, it had only used some phoenix materials, and this was merely one stage of evolution, so it was certainly still far from the level of cross-species racial transformation.

Similar to the cocoon-breaking methods of the Ice Crystal Butterfly and Ice Crystal Phoenix Butterfly, its cocoon was soon frozen into a block of ice and then shattered. With the cracks and incomparable light of evolution, a huge Ice Phoenix Moth three or four meters in size appeared before everyone's eyes!
