Chapter 560 — The Cosmic Overlord Legion Arrives

The Beast-Taming Craftsman Page 1 of 3

Several days later.

Shi Yun arrived—the Shi Yun who had agreed with Shi Yan and Lin Feng to travel to the Sky Spirit Realm and attend the Four Saints Assembly.

During this period, Shi Jin and the pets worked overtime, and their days were utterly fulfilling.

Ginseng Baby's dealings with the Plant Association proceeded in orderly fashion as well.

Though because of Shi Yun's matter, Ginseng Baby had yet to produce enough Reincarnation Fruits and Cultivation Fruits for the Plant Association, Shi Jin and the others had still raked in enormous profits from it.

Soon their fortunes climbed back to their peak, more than the resources granted by a one-star Will and a Domain Lord combined.

Moreover, during this stretch, word of the Reincarnation Fruit and the Cultivation Fruit spread through the Canglan Realm.

Everyone learned that the accident in which the Canglan Plant Association's organized trial had forced numerous plant-type prodigies into reincarnation had been remedied by a Reincarnation Fruit created by a plant-type big shot named the Ginseng Celestial Emperor.

At the same time, a resource for automated idle cultivation called the Cultivation Fruit had also caught fire across the Canglan Realm.

Had the Cultivation Fruit merely offered efficient idle cultivation, it might not have grown so popular; its sudden explosion owed much to its notorious stench as a gimmick.

The prodigies who had eaten the Cultivation Fruit could not bear the thought of suffering such foul food alone, so they recommended it far and wide to family and friends—which sent the Plant Association's Cultivation Fruit reservation volume soaring...

This made Shi Jin realize that Teacher Cat truly had a business mind: at certain times, so long as the quality held up, a gimmicky quirk could often serve as a top-tier marketing tool, spreading far more readily than ordinary attributes.

"So you're really not coming?" Before leaving for the Sky Spirit Realm, Shi Jin asked the Gem Cat one last time as she lounged lazily on the sofa.

"Not going," the Gem Cat said, opening the fridge with her telekinesis and pulling out a bottle of fresh milk, slothful as ever.

"Then don't complain later that we didn't take you out to have fun." Shi Jin remembered how, back on Blue Star, she had been upset for a long time over the several trips he had taken without her.

"How could I," the Gem Cat said with a yawn. What was so fun about the Four Saints Assembly anyway? Now that she had the Cultivation Fruit—a little foul-tasting, sure—she just wanted to idle-cultivate right here.

Besides, she hadn't even finished touring the interesting spots of the Hovering Realm and the Canglan Realm; her interest in visiting some Sky Spirit Realm was hardly great.

"Then we're off." Shi Jin shrugged. If she wouldn't go, so be it. He packed his luggage while calling the pets over.

The Four Saints Assembly would last a month, and Shi Jin and the others would not be returning for a while; everything else had been arranged as well.

Ginseng Baby's dealings with the Plant Association would pause for a time; Susu's purification tasks had always exceeded quota—she had long since completed several decades' worth of a three-star Purifier's assignments; and as for Lin's research paper, it had been written and recently uploaded to the Disaster Research Institute headquarters.

"Senior Lin Feng, I'm setting out..." With his pre-departure tasks done, Shi Jin contacted Senior Lin Feng, ready to leave.

After winding their way along, Shi Jin and his companions finally arrived. Beneath a massive azure dragon fountain in a city of antique charm, having found Lin Feng, Shi Jin said outright:

"Senior Lin Feng, this place is so remote—I searched ages before I found it."

Lin Feng laughed. "Haha, indeed. Such a grand ruins site, and it isn't even in the main city."

"Let's go on ahead. I've already found you lodging. The event doesn't start for a couple more days; in the meantime you can look around. There are shops and auctions in the old city selling faith objects—you can attend whichever you like."

"Uh, what about you, Senior Lin Feng?" Shi Yu had been hoping to look around with Lin Feng. When he ran short of money later, surely this senior wouldn't just "stand by with folded arms."

"Little Bai and I agreed to go see an old friend, so I won't be joining you. But if anything comes up, you can always come to me," Lin Feng said.

Shi Jin: ??

Little Bai... Shi Ling explained. Senior Lin Feng had raised a white tiger back on Blue Star—or more precisely, a white tiger girl. Not the kind formed by a white tiger and a human beastmaster merging, but one that had evolved from a white tiger toward a humanoid form.

Her name was simply Little Bai.

It was precisely through this connection that Senior Lin Feng had obtained his initial qualification to attend the Four Saints Assembly.

What Shi Jin hadn't expected, though, was that the man had called him over on what was truly just a casual whim—not out of any desire to personally mentor him.

"Miscalculated..." Shi Jin's face fell in regret. Of course—mentoring a junior, compared to dining out with a white tiger girl, was hardly any fun at all.

Senior Lin Feng bringing him here was already generous enough...

"You're a grown man—don't tell me you still want me to stay by your side and look after you," Lin Feng said.

"No, Senior Lin Feng, just go about your own business," Shi Qi said, his mouth twitching.

"Then I'm relieved." Lin Feng smiled slightly and said, "Buy plenty of faith objects, prepare for the Deification War, and you can also take part in the Four Saints Ruins battles when the time comes."

"Don't worry too much. It's organized by tier—overlords contend with overlords, demigods with demigods, true gods with true gods. Your azure dragon has that skill; with sufficient faith power, it'll be nearly invincible at the demigod level..."

"Mm... I'll see how it goes then," Shi Li said.

As the two chatted, suddenly the sky seemed to darken.

A leviathan-class super cosmic warship, accompanied by a ripple in space, descended from the starry heavens.

The warship's arrival drew the eyes of everyone in Liexiu City, and humans and starry creatures alike—all evolving toward the Four Saints—wore grave expressions.

Rumble...

The warship descended with a tremendous commotion, disturbing no small number of people. Its manner of arrival was insolent beyond words, and yet not a single soul dared to show the slightest displeasure.

"Ah, this." Lin Feng's expression turned grave as well. "Why have they come this time?"

"That's..." Shi Qi's eyes fixed on the emblem borne by the colossal cosmic warship.

It was a black bull's head, crowned with a pair of demonic horns, radiating an overwhelming sense of oppression.

It was the Cosmic Overlord's Starfleet Legion...

"It's the Cosmic Overlord's legion," Lin Feng said. "Though I couldn't say which of the Overlord's super-god generals commands this particular fleet..."

"What are they doing here?" Shi Li asked.

"Perhaps they've come to trade as well," Lin Feng said. "Though most likely, they're here to crack the Four Saints Ruins. The Cosmic Overlord's legions have always had a keen interest in the ruins of past eras..."

"The Four Saints Ruins are extraordinarily ancient—they appeared long, long ago. This can't be their first time here; their previous attempts to crack the ruins must all have ended in failure. If they've come again this time, perhaps they've found some new means."

"Never mind them. So long as we don't provoke them first, they won't dare run rampant on World King Planet," Lin Feng said.

Shi Heng nodded. If they had come to trade, so much the better—he had been hoping to buy a few planets from the Cosmic Overlord's legion...

And if they had come for the Four Saints Ruins... Shi Jin could only say, whatever makes you happy.
