A six-legged Shanxu beast, vast beyond measure, discovered him and charged. Yet when the beast reached Shen Mu's side and opened its blood-bowl maw, it did not bite him.

It seemed unable to touch him; Shen Mu was as though without substance, and passed straight through its mouth.

Stranger still, as though he had not noticed the beast at all, he simply walked on through its body.

The Shanxu was greatly alarmed, unable to fathom it, and fled in panic.

Shen Mu walked into the mountain forest.

Ever since the Earth Mother had come to the ancestral court, the ancestral court had gained many mountain forests, lush with grass and trees, and here dwelt a great many herbivorous giants, the Kuiqi. The Kuiqi fed on the woods; lowering their heads, they could uproot a towering tree and devour it whole. Walking through the woodland, Shen Mu saw hill-like heads come dipping down from above the treetops; the Kuiqi seized great trees in their jaws, and some seized him along with them, while the huge feet of others came down and trampled over him.

Yet no matter how mighty these giants were, they could never touch him in the slightest. He walked on all the while toward the Great Black Wood.

The realm of entering the dao was too wondrous; he was sunk in the vast ocean of the Great Beginning dao, sensing all that belonged to it.

At this moment the Great Beginning in the egg also sensed something strange: the speed at which he refined the Primordial Stone had, without his knowing it, increased, and it showed a tendency to grow faster and faster! This refining speed even far surpassed the speed at which he had refined within the Great Beginning lode!

"So that is it—Mu Tianzun is also comprehending the Great Beginning dao while I refine the stone! He comprehends the Great Beginning dao, and it in turn feeds back into the Great Beginning lode within his spirit fetus, making the lode more and more complete!

" The Great Beginning in the egg thought: "This is as good as the two of us refining the stone together!

No—it is even better than the two of us joining hands! At this rate, the day of my birth can be brought forward by a great deal!

" Though Shen Mu was in the midst of enlightenment, knowing and feeling nothing, his pace was not slow; at his present speed, three to five days would carry him across the thousand mountains and ten thousand rivers of the ancestral court to the Great Black Wood. Just then, all at once heaven and earth shook, and the sky turned incomparably bright.

One strange treasure after another hung in the heavens—the Gang, the Yin, the Yuan, the *, the Suo, the Ce, the Gong, the Men, the Jing, and other treasures of the heavenly dao, their might surging to the heavens, hammering down without cease! The ground trembled, and the Earth Mother emerged, driving the heart of the Origin Wood to resist with all her might.

At the same time, the Ancestral God King, his body ten thousand zhang tall, wreathed in divine light, holding up the Heaven Umbrella, came striding slowly forward, his face dark. The sky darkened with him. Wherever he passed, the treasures of the heavenly dao followed at his heels like shadows, forming another Xuan Capital world within the ancestral court!

This Xuan Capital world was immeasurably smaller than the true Xuan Capital, yet it was highly condensed, shrouding a radius of ten thousand li!

Over these ten thousand li of ancestral court, the majesty of heaven rolled, the treasures of the heavenly dao hung on high, ceaselessly bombarding the Earth Mother, leaving her no way to flee!

"Earth Mother, you slew my sons and juniors.

Today it is time to see you on your way.

" The Ancestral God King held up the Heaven Umbrella, which was as though a complete heaven and earth in itself; its ribs grew longer and wider, transforming into the forty-nine great daos that propped up the Xuan Capital world, making it unbreakable.

Seeing this, the Earth Mother felt despair, and suddenly cried out to the heavens: "Heavenly Lord, will you not rein in your son?

" The Ancestral God King sneered: "Even if my father descended upon the ancestral court, he could not bring much of his power; he must keep his true body to guard the Xuan Capital.

If he comes only as a clone, what can he do to me? Father, do you dare?

" He roared at the sky.

Suddenly the Xuan Capital world split open, and a white light descended from the heavens, becoming on landing the Heavenly Lord in white robes, white brows, white hair, and white eyes, who sighed: "Wicked son, stay your hand. Do you truly mean to make your old father deal with you?

" The Ancestral God King laughed heartily, then suddenly sealed the Xuan Capital world and burst forth with all his strength, crying: "Father, today your son will see your clone on its way, and another day he will see your true body on its way!
