Chapter 1392 — Summoning and Its Countermeasure

Lan Yutian's voice fell upon everyone's ears, sounding especially harsh.

Shen Mu said gravely, "You are not weak either. You are only a hair's breadth behind me, so there is no need to belittle yourselves.

" The crowd coughed repeatedly and glanced around.

Shen Mu was about to use his divine ability when, outside, the giant beasts attacking the divine consciousness cage suddenly prostrated themselves and kowtowed in worship. Shen Mu frowned and looked out.

He saw the earth heaving; countless roots burst through the soil, and the form of Earth Mother Yuanjun emerged from underground, growing taller and taller. This ancient god was wrapped in baleful aura, reeking of blood.

She strode forward, and one giant beast after another involuntarily knelt and worshipped her. She was the Mother of the Earth, the natural ruler of the ancient era's giant beasts.

In this world, only two people could control the giant beasts of the ancient era: one was Long Xiao, and the other was Earth Mother.

Long Xiao was the leader of the giant beasts and possessed supreme majesty, and thus could make the ancient giant beasts submit. Yet there were those who did not submit; for example, giant beasts subdued by beings such as Shu Jun, Gong Yun, and the Great Emperor would not submit to Long Xiao, and the void giant beasts would not submit to Long Xiao either.

Earth Mother, however, was an ancient god born of the Dao of Heaven and Earth. She did not rely on majesty; she was formed by heaven and earth and born of the Great Dao, a natural ruler. "Mu Tianzun.

" Earth Mother Yuanjun came to the outside of the cage and sized up the people within with great interest. She smiled, "So even you have come to this day?

" Shen Mu's expression shifted slightly, then he laughed heartily, "Earth Mother Yuanjun, you think you have me at your mercy?

I am protected by Long Xiao's divine consciousness cage. One of us is outside the cage and one within—except it is I outside and you within.

Earth Mother, farewell. Take care of yourself. " Earth Mother Yuanjun sneered, "You think that because you hide in the cage, I cannot deal with you? You underestimate me far too much.

Long Xiao's divine consciousness cage can trap you, but it cannot trap me. Because I have obtained a supreme treasure! " She took out a palm—the Great Emperor's palm, which she had refined into a weapon.

She sneered, "You are the one who reduced me to this state. Today I, this palace, will scatter your soul completely. Let us see whether you, the Great Mage, can resurrect yourself again!

" She activated the Great Emperor's hand and punched.

Even the divine consciousness cage that ancient giant beasts could not break immediately showed cracks under the attack of the Great Emperor's hand. The power of the Great Emperor's hand was supremely hard and fierce; the fist struck the cage, forcing the insubstantial cage to become substantial, and then the Great Emperor's hand shattered it.

Earth Mother Yuanjun launched another strike. The divine consciousness cage shook violently.

In only two or three more blows, the cage Long Xiao had laid down would collapse completely. The people in the cage fell into panic.

Shen Mu frowned, removed the treasure seal from Shu Jun's back, and said with a smile, "Daoist Brother Great Emperor, the time has come to release you. Congratulations, brother, on escaping your predicament. " Everyone in the cage was startled, including Shu Jun, who had himself once forgotten that on his back he carried a treasure seal refined from the Great Emperor's head.

The Great Emperor's divine consciousness was so powerful that it affected their thoughts and awareness, preventing them from seeing the seal. Even Shu Jun had his memory imperceptibly influenced by the Great Emperor's head, and he had no recollection of the seal on his back.

The Great Emperor's head sneered, "You release me? Mu Tianzun, you are too ruthless.

Releasing me now is not merely to make me deal with Earth Mother, is it? You intend for me to ambush Heavenly Venerable Gong and Langxuan Shenhuang, do you not?

" Shen Mu shook his head and said calmly, "Only to maintain the balance for now. I do not wish the back of the Ancestral Court to fall into the hands of any Heavenly Venerable. " He undid the fourfold seal, and the Great Emperor's head was freed at once.

Earth Mother Yuanjun controlled the Great Emperor's palm and struck again, but suddenly the palm went out of control, its divine might surging, and it turned to strike her instead. Caught off guard, Earth Mother Yuanjun was sent flying backward by the palm, and countless roots from deep within the earth were torn out with her—bang, bang, bang—thick roots were ripped up and flew into the distance along with Earth Mother Yuanjun.

The Great Emperor's head floated up and looked around proudly.

The giant beasts charged under Earth Mother Yuanjun's control, but then his divine consciousness swept out, and one mighty giant beast after another was immediately taken under his control. The Great Emperor's head floated up and landed on the forehead of one of the giant beasts.

He laughed heartily, "Mu Tianzun, this vast realm of the Ancestral Court is where I once galloped and commanded the winds. It is a pity there are no void beasts; otherwise I would let you see the splendor of my prime! " Giant beasts galloped, carrying his head and his fist into the distance.

There, Heavenly Venerable Gong, Qiang Tianfei, Langxuan Shenhuang, and Long Xiao were locked in a stalemate, neither side able to gain the upper hand. "Mu Tianzun, I will not kill you all, but I cannot let you have an easy time either! " The Great Emperor's voice came from afar, laughing freely.

"Earth Mother Yuanjun, I leave Mu Tianzun to you! " Shen Mu's expression changed drastically. He stamped his foot hard and, without another word, activated his divine consciousness.

The reverse summoning art started, and in an instant a reverse summoning altar took shape! Clang, clang, clang— Countless runes swirled around him, and in but a moment countless summoning runes were imprinted on the altar.

The altar was prepared in an instant, and he immediately activated the art.

The people on the altar immediately sensed Shen Mu's vast, profound divine consciousness surging into the void and making contact with Crown Prince Youming in Great Black Mountain on the front of the Ancestral Court.

Shen Mu's divine consciousness was incomparably powerful, and he forcibly transformed Crown Prince Youming's divine consciousness into a summoning formation! In Great Black Mountain, Crown Prince Youming was lifted off his feet and pulled into the sky, all manner of magnificent runes continuously appearing around him, leaving Long Qilin and the others dumbfounded.

Hum!

The art activated. One figure after another appeared beside Crown Prince Youming.

Shu Jun, Xu Shenghua, the First Ancestor, Lan Yutian, and the others appeared one after another upon the rune chains of the summoning art. The number of people grew greater and greater.

On the other side, Shen Mu sent everyone away and then prepared to summon himself to the front of the Ancestral Court as well.

Just as his figure was about to vanish, countless roots burst from the ground, pierced through the altar, and wrapped around his feet with a swish, swish, swish! The roots grew madly and soon wrapped Shen Mu up like a giant rice dumpling, leaving only his head exposed.

Shen Mu clenched his teeth and frantically activated his mana; his figure, along with the roots, vanished from the back of the Ancestral Court!

"You want to leave? Mu Tianzun, you underestimate this palace! " No sooner had his figure vanished than countless thick roots followed him into the void, tearing violently.

Earth Mother Yuanjun's figure appeared. She bellowed, activated the summoning art, and said sternly, "Wherever you go, I can summon you back! " Thud!
