Chapter 1394 — Slaying the Earth Mother

"Hypocrite!

" Earth Mother sneered, and came charging in with savage fury. Above Wei Suifeng's head the vault of heaven emerged, the Heavenly Dipper hanging inverted, the Heavenly River flowing within the Dipper, and beneath the Dipper lay his heavenly palace!

His path of cultivation was unlike any other: he had begun with the Great Nurturing Nether Demon Scripture, and with that scripture he had fused the various arts of the Imperial Throne, comprehending thereby his own Heavenly Dipper Dao Art. The road he walked was not that of forging separate heavenly palaces and gathering them into a Heavenly Court, but the road of the Dao Realm.

After all, he was a disciple of the Woodcutter Sage, Wen Tiange.

Of Wen Tiange's three disciples, he had received the most painstaking instruction and the longest teaching. Kaihuang had opened up the Dao Realm, and Wen Tiange had passed the Dao Realm down to him.

If one looked closely at his Heavenly Dipper, one would see that above the Dipper and its River lay layer upon layer of further Dippers, and river upon river of further Heavenly Rivers!

Wei Suifeng let out a long whistle and traded a hard blow with Earth Mother; at once he felt he was no match, and staggered back.

Crown Prince Youming charged in. One before, one behind, both were among the foremost Imperial Throne existences in the world today: one famed for the sheer profundity of his mana but somewhat lesser in the transformations of his divine abilities, the other famed for the versatility of his divine abilities but somewhat weaker in mana. Yet both were beings who could stand shoulder to shoulder with the Heavenly Court's four Celestial Masters and four-hued Emperors; set within the Heavenly Court, their strength would find few rivals!

Earth Mother met the two of them in battle without the slightest fear; even with two Imperial Throne powerhouses of great consummation joining hands, they could not affect her in the least! She pressed forward step by step, drawing ever closer to Shen Mu beneath the jade pillar of the Lapis Lazuli Azure Heaven Banner.

Her Primordial Tree had also completely immobilized the twenty-eight heavens of the Lapis Lazuli Azure Heaven Banner, leaving those heavens utterly stagnant, unable to operate. Her Primordial Tree's roots had also pierced through the twenty-eight layers of heavens, entangling one weighty treasure after another.

She now held certain victory!

And at this moment, beneath the jade pillar by which the Lapis Lazuli Azure Heaven Banner propped up the twenty-eight layers of heavens, Shen Mu bowed to Earth Mother.

Earth Mother chuckled.

"Heavenly Venerable Mu, you too are a hypocrite — nothing but a false gentleman!

" Shen Mu rose from his bow, drew a long breath, and suddenly the heavenly palaces behind him burst forth; palace after palace emerged, perfectly joined, becoming nineteen heavenly palaces linked into one great Heavenly Court!

Within those palaces stood primordial spirits, each raising its head to look toward the twenty-eight layers of heavens, each urging its mana, and at once the weighty treasures within the twenty-eight heavens were roused by him!

Dong — a great bell tolled, and at once the Primordial Tree roots coiled about its body were shaken apart. A thirty-three-layered tower blazed with light, each layer revolving in a different direction, and the various formation patterns branded within it burst forth, becoming thirty-three different killing formations that shredded the Primordial Tree roots to pieces!

An ancient zither played itself, dancing in the air, its notes sharp and clattering, cutting through the Primordial Tree roots like a blade through bamboo! .

.

.

The might of the various treasures bloomed in that instant, and in a flash every root in every heaven was severed! Suddenly the power of all the treasures in all the heavens burst forth together; countless dao patterns and dao chains appeared around those treasures, becoming their own distinct divine abilities and killing formations, and crashed down as one!

Earth Mother was startled; she hastily forced Wei Suifeng and Crown Prince Youming back and looked up, and saw a sight that filled her with utter horror!

The countless treasures of the twenty-eight heavens gathered all their might and struck the Core of the Primordial Tree from every direction, blasting flat the crown of the Primordial Tree she had labored so hard to cultivate and grow, and shattering every one of its roots!

Even the bark of the Primordial Tree was stripped away in a single blow!

The Primordial Tree was now once more as the Core of the Primordial Tree had once been — a bare, naked stick! "Earth Mother, the Core of the Primordial Tree was a gift you gave me.

Later, seeing that you had no body, I gave the treasure back to you. " Shen Mu's voice came, rather cold, clearly into Earth Mother's ears: "The Lord of Heaven intervened and bade me spare your life, and I spared it.

Between us, by rights, our grudges should have been dissolved. In truth, I did not kill you; you ought to thank me for not killing you.

Yet you have opposed me again and again.

" The twenty-eight layers of heavens, the countless treasures, shifted, gathering at the summit of each layer of heaven; the treasures blazed with light, their bell mouths facing down, cauldron mouths facing down, zither faces facing down, pagoda bases facing down, and suddenly all the treasures' might erupted!

That terrifying surge crashed from the first heaven to the second, joined with the might of the second heaven's treasures and crashed into the third, then combined with the third heaven's treasures and crashed into the fourth!

"Even just now, my senior brother and the Crown Prince urged you to set aside your grudges and seek out Great Brahma. Yet you would not listen. " Shen Mu impassively roused the Lapis Lazuli Azure Heaven Banner; the might of the countless treasures gathered into one and struck the tip of the upright Core of the Primordial Tree. That might was so vast that it blasted open the tip of the Core of the Primordial Tree, shattering it to powder, destroying every inner structure of that Primordial Tree, and smashing its way down!

Earth Mother shrieked, flying at the Core of the Primordial Tree. "All that should be done, I have done," Shen Mu said, his face calm. Crown Prince Youming showed a look of reluctance, then suddenly said, "Heavenly Venerable Mu has a heart that cherishes life.

Earth Mother, why not bow your head and concede? " Wei Suifeng too looked reluctant.

"Junior brother, Earth Mother's crimes do not warrant death. .

. " Boom — the might of the Lapis Lazuli Azure Heaven Banner crashed down and blasted that Core of the Primordial Tree utterly to powder!

Earth Mother rushed there and was flung away by the surging might. Her flesh began to dissolve, turning to flying ash, and soon only a soul remained; her cultivation too was rapidly scattering.

And at this moment the myriad treasures of the heavens of the Lapis Lazuli Azure Heaven Banner stirred their might once more; the dao chains of one treasure after another descended from the sky and bound Earth Mother's soul.

Crown Prince Youming suddenly cried out, "Heavenly Venerable Mu, think thrice!

Earth Mother has rendered merit to the Origin Realm! " "But she has also brought calamity to the Origin Realm.

" The primordial spirits in Shen Mu's heavenly palaces all urged their mana; the might of the myriad treasures of the heavens crashed down, gathered into one, and struck at Earth Mother's soul.

"In the three hundred thousand years of the Supreme Emperor, the living beings who died are beyond counting.

Earth Mother cannot escape the blame.

" Shen Mu closed his eyes.

There was reluctance in his heart too, so he simply did not look at the scene.
