Chapter 417 — A Car Crash on the Road

The Blossom Guardian

"It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but that's just how it is. In this school... no, even if you threw in every thug in the whole city, I'd say nobody can do a thing to that brat Wei Zhao! He isn't even afraid of a gun!" Zhong Yongliang said, making excuses for himself.

"Since Liangzi isn't afraid of losing face, I'll say my piece too!" Zou Ruoming sighed, then began to enumerate his grievances as if counting off treasures: "In front of all those classmates, and in front of the dean of students besides, Wei Zhao slapped me across the face. What could I do? I can't beat him in a fight. That kid is savage..."

Feng Xiaoxiao felt a little dizzy. It seemed her earlier investigation hadn't gone deep enough. Wei Zhao was this fierce, and she had still wanted to go head-to-head with him — was that even possible? Now it looked like a direct confrontation was absolutely out of the question. She might be pretty ruthless, a real little hellcat, but Wei Zhao was even more ruthless!

After hearing Zhong Yongliang and Zou Ruoming out, Feng Xiaoxiao no longer had any confidence that she could do anything to Wei Zhao.

"So Wei Zhao has no weaknesses at all?" Feng Xiaoxiao frowned. "Do either of you know whether Wei Zhao has any soft spot?"

"A soft spot, huh..." Zou Ruoming thought for a moment, then said, somewhat sullenly, "I'd guess his soft spot is probably Tang Yun. If you went after Tang Yun... heh heh, little Xiaoxiao, how about you look into it and get Tang Yun out for me? I'll do the deed for you!"

Zou Ruoming still hadn't given up on Tang Yun. His wish last time had come to nothing, ruined by Wei Zhao, but deep down he still hoped to make Tang Yun his own. He didn't believe Wei Zhao would dare kill him; once the rice was cooked, Wei Zhao wouldn't be able to do a thing about it, and Tang Yun would have no choice but to follow him obediently.

And Wei Zhao, for Tang Yun's sake, probably wouldn't make things difficult for him anymore.

"No!" Feng Xiaoxiao refused flatly. She wanted to make trouble for Wei Zhao only to make him yield, and then have him teach her to drive and to fight. If something really happened to Tang Yun, Wei Zhao would never teach her anything again — the two of them would become mortal enemies!

"Uh... then I'm out of ideas too..." Zou Ruoming shook his head.

"I don't have any good ideas either..." Zhong Yongliang had even less notion of what Wei Zhao's soft spot might be. If he'd known, he would have gone after it himself long ago — why would he have waited until now?

Feng Xiaoxiao cursed the two of them as useless trash in her heart. Bringing them here had been completely pointless — a waste of time!

On the way back to school with Tang Yun in the car, since time was a little tight, Wei Zhao took the fast lane on the left. But once they got up onto the elevated highway, he ran into someone driving the wrong way ahead of them!

Wei Zhao frowned. There were cars on both sides; changing lanes at the last moment was impossible, and with their speed so high, an accident was all too likely. Even if he didn't care about himself, he had to think about Tang Yun!

Wei Zhao switched on his high beams, hoping to make the oncoming car return to its own lane. But to his surprise, the other driver not only refused to slow down and go back, he flashed his high beams right back at Wei Zhao — and they were modified HID lights. If Wei Zhao's eyesight hadn't been so good, anyone else would have been temporarily blinded by the glare!

Wei Zhao had no choice. At this rate the two cars would collide head-on any second; Tang Yun had already let out a terrified scream. Wei Zhao yanked the steering wheel hard to the right, then slammed the brakes while jerking up the handbrake. The van whipped into a sudden tail-slide, tracing a graceful arc, and its rear end slammed into the front corner of the oncoming car.

Though Wei Zhao had carefully controlled the angle and force of the impact, there was still a tremendous crash — but nothing happened to Tang Yun's side.

Zou Tiandi had just swapped in a brand-new BMW a few days ago, and his son had gotten him a custom license plate — a very flashy one: SBSBSB!

Originally, Zou Tiandi had wanted a plate that was all 8s. He felt that the plate Zou Ruoguang had gotten him, with no 8s and no 6s and nothing but foreign letters, was a bit awkward. But Zou Ruoguang said that plates like "888" and "00544" were out of fashion now — those were all outdated!

These days license plates were all about individuality. Only a plate with personality would turn heads when you went out! Those 888s and 666s on the street had long since lost their old head-turning power; the one that turned heads now was this SBSBSB!

Zou Tiandi didn't think much about it. Since his son said the plate was very individual and very cool, he'd use it!

Unexpectedly, once he started using it, it really was flashy. The head-turning rate on the road was close to a hundred percent, and some people even pulled out their phones to take envious photos as souvenirs. Zou Tiandi's vanity was satisfied in an instant!

There were even two drivers on the street who got so excited at the sight of his plate that they crashed right into each other! This gave Zou Tiandi an indescribable sense of honor!

He'd even driven the wrong way and plenty of cars had made way for him — nobody dared go head-to-head with him! But today some blind fool had gone and crashed into his new car. Zou Tiandi flew into a rage at once, jumped out of the car, and yanked at Wei Zhao's door: "Get the f*** out here! Are you blind or what? How do you drive? With a plate as cool as mine, and you still dare hit me?"

Wei Zhao was taken aback. He hadn't expected someone driving the wrong way to be so arrogant. He couldn't help glancing at the license plate, and one look nearly made him burst out laughing... That plate really was something special!

"What are you laughing at? Laughing won't help you, you little brat. You wrecked my new car — hand over a hundred thousand yuan, or you're not going anywhere!" Zou Tiandi had been feeling great, planning to take the car out for a spin whenever he had nothing to do. Now Wei Zhao had crashed into him — how many days would it be before he could show off his cool plate again?

"You drove the wrong way and hit my car? And you're demanding money from me?" Wei Zhao looked speechlessly at the man in front of him, who seemed vaguely familiar. Where had he seen him before?

Wei Zhao had a good memory, but small fry like this weren't worth remembering, so for the moment he couldn't recall who this nobody was.

"How much is that beat-up van of yours worth? Don't think I don't know you rammed me on purpose, pulling that drifting stunt on me. I'm telling you, none of it will do you any good. If you don't pay up today, you're not leaving!" Zou Tiandi wasn't short of money, but he was furious today, so he meant to make things hard for Wei Zhao on purpose. Who told him to crash into his cool car?

"All right, stop dawdling. You hit my car and I won't even ask you for money. Let's just go our separate ways — I'm in a hurry!" Wei Zhao got out, looked over his van, and found there wasn't much damage — just a dent in the back. So he pounded it a few times with his hand and hammered the sheet metal straight again.

"What's that supposed to mean? Trying to scare me with your strength?" Zou Tiandi was briefly stunned by Wei Zhao's action, then pointed at him and demanded.
