Chapter 471 — Keep Ramming

The Blossom Guardian

A rather vicious-looking one-eyed man kicked Kang Xiaobo in the backside, sending him head over heels and flat onto the ground. "Damn it, sneaking around like that, you don't look like anything decent — you're not a reporter, are you?"

Kang Xiaobo was unlucky. Afraid the two guards at the gate would spot him, he had climbed over the wall from the side into the compound. His plan had been sound enough; the trouble was that while he was climbing, the one-eyed man happened to be taking a piss against the wall not far below. When Kang Xiaobo dropped down, he gave the man such a fright that it cut him off midstream. So the one-eyed man was in a towering rage, and he hauled Kang Xiaobo straight into the tile-roofed house.

"Where's Fen? Where have you taken Xiaofen? Just who the hell are you people?" Now that he had been caught, Kang Xiaobo threw caution to the wind. He stuck out his neck, looking for all the world like a man about to go nobly to his death.

"Fen?" The one-eyed man blinked. "What Xiaofen? What the hell do you do, anyway?"

"You kidnapped my girlfriend, and you still ask what I do?" Kang Xiaobo said furiously. "What do you do?"

"Your girlfriend? Wouldn't be that cripple they brought in just now, would it?" The one-eyed man suddenly recalled the lame woman who had been delivered a while ago.

"Where is she? Let her go, right now!" Having thrown caution to the wind, Kang Xiaobo was afraid of nothing. "If you don't let us go, the moment my boss gets here, it'll be the end of you!"

"Gah?" The one-eyed man acted as if he had heard the joke of the century, and burst out laughing. "Your boss? Who do you think your boss is? The end of us? Well, since you're with that cripple, perfect — we'll lock you up together. If you won't take the road to heaven but insist on walking into hell, then the two of you can be a pair of lovebirds in misfortune! We'll cut out both your organs and let you share the suffering! Gah, gah!"

The one-eyed man had barely finished speaking when two tremendous crashes came from the courtyard, accompanied by bursts of agonized screams — and then silence.

"What's going on?" The one-eyed man was instantly on his guard. He asked one of his men beside him, "Erzi, take this kid down to the basement first. That's not the cops, is it?"

"It's my boss who's here! You're all dead!" Kang Xiaobo had an inexplicable faith in Wei Zhao. Once Wei Zhao came, both he and Xiaofen would be out of danger!

"Your boss?" The one-eyed man actually relaxed. As long as it wasn't the police, it was easy to handle. He said to his man Erzi, "Biaozi and Feizi at the gate should have dealt with them already. Let's go out and take a look."

"Then what about this kid—" Erzi pointed at Kang Xiaobo and asked.

"Just throw him in here and lock it. He can't get out anyway." The one-eyed man said carelessly, "Bring the stuff. Let's go see which other idiot has come to donate his kidneys of his own accord!"

"Sure thing!" Erzi took a hunting rifle from a hidden compartment in a table inside the room, and went out of the tile-roofed house with the one-eyed man — but the scene before them left them both stunned.

There lay Biaozi and Feizi on the ground, in a state of misery beyond description, their faces covered in blood; clearly they were already done for. And in the courtyard there was nothing left but an Audi TT sports car — obviously the two of them had been run over by it.

"Motherfuckers, kill them!" The one-eyed man was in a rage. In this compound, only the four brothers stood guard as a rule, and now two of them had been run to death by a car — how could he swallow that?

"They — they have a gun!" Feng Xiaoxiao looked at the one-eyed man and Erzi emerging from the house and said, somewhat panicked.

"Heh — I told you there'd be danger. If you're scared, I'll leave you the car, and you can drive back right now." Wei Zhao glanced at Feng Xiaoxiao, whose face was ashen, and said lightly, "I promise no one will come after you."

"I — I'm not leaving!" How would Feng Xiaoxiao dare drive off alone at a moment like this? She knew that staying with Wei Zhao was the safest thing. And although she was somewhat frightened, inside she also felt a certain thrill!

At this moment Wei Zhao was like the lone hero of a movie, storming the headquarters of a criminal gang all by himself, preparing to slaughter his way through and wipe them out in one sweep!

Wei Zhao wasted no words either. The instant Erzi raised his gun, he slammed down the accelerator, and the car spun through a tight circle in the courtyard, knocking Erzi flying with a "bang". The gun flew off to who knew where.

Wei Zhao didn't want to reveal too much of his ability in front of Feng Xiaoxiao, so ramming people with the car was the best solution.

The one-eyed man had assumed that once the gun came out, the person in the car in front of him would meekly surrender. After all, any normal person felt an instinctive fear at the sight of a firearm; unless they were a desperate outlaw, no one would dare make a reckless move.

So he had never expected Wei Zhao to dare make his move with the car at that very moment, knocking even the gun-wielding Erzi flying!

Sensing that things were going badly, the one-eyed man wanted to flee. He was merely hired as a guard; he had no intention of doing this kind of life-risking work. He would give up the money — as long as he could get away first.

But the next moment, everything went black before the one-eyed man's eyes, and he fell to the ground knowing nothing more.

Wei Zhao pulled off the one-eyed man's belt and bound his hands, then used Erzi's belt to bind his legs, and tossed him carelessly to one side.

Wei Zhao had already run over three men; naturally he wouldn't leave himself no one alive for questioning. This one-eyed man was clearly some sort of petty leader, so when he tried to run, Wei Zhao got out of the car and knocked him unconscious with a casual blow.

Watching Wei Zhao's crisp, flowing, no-nonsense movements, Feng Xiaoxiao's eyes went wide, brimming with adoration and excitement. If before she had admired only Wei Zhao's driving skill, now she admired the man himself!

Feng Xiaoxiao privately doubted that even the bodyguards around her father could have been as clean and decisive as Wei Zhao, disposing of everyone in this courtyard so effortlessly.

Wei Zhao walked to the front of the tile-roofed house in the courtyard and kicked the door to pieces.

The windows of the tile-roofed house were opaque, so Kang Xiaobo could see nothing of what was happening outside. At the moment he was startled by a huge noise, but when he made out clearly the person at the door, he was beside himself with excitement: "Boss! You came?"

"You brat, couldn't you just wait for me? What if something had happened to you?" Wei Zhao scolded Kang Xiaobo. "Where's Xiaofen?"

"I don't know either. From what they were saying just now, it seems she's locked in the basement—" Kang Xiaobo said.

"Oh. Then did they say why they grabbed Xiaofen?" As he spoke, Wei Zhao kicked open a door in the inner room and, sure enough, saw the entrance to a basement.

Wei Zhao gave a wry smile. He had been overthinking it before, imagining this basement would be hidden somewhere secret — and now it turned out to be right in front of him. But then he thought of the one-eyed man and his men and their abilities, and he let it go.

They were all the weakest sort — what kind of sophisticated tricks could they possibly have?
