"Xiaoshu, why do I have this strange feeling?" Gu Mengyao knitted her brows. Something felt off, though she could not put her finger on it. In any case, Zhong Yongliang had been acting oddly today.

"I've been feeling strange all along, Yao-yao. Why did you bring me out here? It's no fun at all!" Shen Yushu scratched her head and frowned. "Yao-yao, you're not hoping to go at it outdoors with Zhong Yongliang, are you?"

"Shut up! As if!" Gu Mengyao lunged at Shen Yushu viciously. "With him... doing that? I'd rather die!"

"Oh! Then who do you want to do it with?" Shen Yushu asked.

"I want... I want nothing! I don't want anyone!" Gu Mengyao had nearly fallen into Shen Yushu's trap. "Xiaoshu, what's going on in that head of yours? Or is it you who's been thinking about it?"

"Are you going to try it or not?" Shen Yushu pressed on, paying no heed to Gu Mengyao's fury.

"I'll try it with you, then!" Gu Mengyao was about to faint from rage.

"Oh, I get it now! Yao-yao, you really do like me. No wonder you get jealous every time I mention Brother Arrow -- you're a lesbian!" Shen Yushu said, the truth suddenly dawning on her.

Gu Mengyao had nothing to say. She knew Shen Yushu was only joking; whether she explained or not made no difference, and the more she explained, the angrier she would get.

After a while, judging the incense smoke in the cave to have reached sufficient density, Gao Xiaofu nodded. Zhong Yongliang walked to the mouth of the cave and called out to Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu: "Mengyao, a great discovery, a great discovery!"

Gu Mengyao lifted her head and drew a deep breath, pressing down the anger Shen Yushu had stoked in her before she asked, "What great discovery?"

"Come over and you'll see! There's actually a door inside this cave!" Zhong Yongliang shouted. "It's the strangest thing!"

"Oh?" Gu Mengyao was startled. How could there be a door in a cave? She took Shen Yushu by the hand and quickened her pace toward the cave.

At the cave mouth, following the beam of Zhong Yongliang's flashlight, she indeed saw a security door, and for a moment she was stunned. "There really is a door here? What's going on? Does someone live here?"

"I don't know. We've been puzzling over it for ages and still can't figure it out!" Zhong Yongliang said, a note of worry in his voice. "How about we call it a day? This place feels a little creepy."

"Go knock on the door!" How could Gu Mengyao give up now? Especially after seeing the door -- which meant someone lived here. The first thought that came to her was that her mother might be living here in seclusion. Strange as it seemed, impulse had already outrun reason.

"I..." Zhong Yongliang could only nod. "Since the lady commands, I'll risk my neck. But I'm telling you, if anything goes wrong, don't blame me. We're in this together now, after all!"

"Why so much chatter? Hurry up!" Gu Mengyao was impatient; seeing Zhong Yongliang dawdle only made her more anxious. But in her haste she found herself growing dizzy, and she had no idea why. As Zhong Yongliang walked over and knocked on the door, her dizziness deepened, and little by little her eyelids grew too heavy to hold up; she felt she was about to fall asleep. "Xiaoshu, I'm so sleepy..."

"Me too, Yao-yao. I want to sleep..." No sooner had Shen Yushu spoken than she pitched forward into Gu Mengyao's arms. The weight of her sent Gu Mengyao toppling to the ground as well, and she slept.

Zhong Yongliang was delighted. The incense had clearly done its work. But he was in no hurry to go over and check -- what if the two of them had not truly fallen asleep and woke up again?

Still, though Zhong Yongliang and Gao Xiaofu had heard how potent the incense was, they had never used it before and had no experience with such things, so they dared not make any noise, tiptoeing about for fear of waking the two girls.

Once it was done, Zhong Yongliang shook his head with some regret. "If only I could cop a feel off Gu Mengyao, that would be sweet!"

But he did not dare. He was afraid he would wake her with his touching, and then things would get messy.

"Yeah, leave Shen Yushu to me. I like her!" Gao Xiaofu was drooling too.

"If you want to die, go ahead and touch her," Zhong Yongliang said coldly. "If I had any other choice, I wouldn't bother with this little madam. Her connections aren't something people like us can trifle with."

Gao Xiaofu could not help but shiver. A moment ago lust had clouded his head; now, at Zhong Yongliang's reminder, he suddenly recalled the glorious history of Shen Yushu's brother, and he hastily reined in his unrealistic notions.

"Put these two phones away safely!" Zhong Yongliang handed the two phones in his hand to Gao Xiaofu.
