Shen Mu handed him the Glazed Azure Heaven Canopy, then suddenly recalled something and said hastily, "I am lending it to you, not giving it to you. Once we leave this divine temple, you must return it to me!"
"Stingy!"
The Lame Elder took the Glazed Azure Heaven Canopy, examined it, and praised, "A truly fine treasure... Since I did not steal it myself, of course I would not keep it. Rest easy, I will return it."
Shen Mu breathed a sigh of relief. Before long, Yan'er returned with Lan Yutian and said, "Tai Yi says he cannot lend it to you—lend it to you and you will never return it. It was Fatty Lan's pleading that made Tai Yi reluctantly agree, and he will lend you only a single leaf."
"Outrageous! Am I the sort who borrows and does not return?"
Shen Mu took the leaf. Its veins were intricate; it was a leaf from Tai Yi's Dao Tree. He felt regret in his heart: "If I had borrowed that branch, then missing one leaf would be nothing. Borrowing only a single leaf, it will be hard to pocket it for myself..."
His spirits rose greatly. He swept his gaze around and said in a low voice, "This time, I, Grandpa Lame, and Lan Yutian will enter the divine temple. The rest of you stay outside. If we are trapped within and cannot escape, then Shu Jun, you and Brother Wei take the divine temple to the Ancestral Court's Yujing City. Once in the city, attempt to break the outer seals and lure the Ten Heavenly Venerables to come rescue us!"
