He made his decision on the spot.
He spread the domain of his Divine Treasury, abandoned the blade for his fingers, and drew stroke after stroke with his hand.
Shua, shua, shua—he traced stroke after stroke, and layer after layer of space surged outward, drawing the distance between Ming Fangyu and the Taichu body ever wider.
Ming Fangyu came howling in.
The Great Emperor's primordial spirit was vast and boundless; one stride carried it across the endlessly newborn and ever-extending layers of space. Its two palms thrust forward, and the space before it folded layer upon layer, displaying dharma power and mastery of divine abilities beyond all comparison!
Shen Mu frowned slightly. By rights, Heavenly Lord Xiao should have made his move upon seeing this, seizing back his own body; and yet even now he had made no move whatsoever, which was somewhat unreasonable. But the attack of the Great Emperor's primordial spirit was upon him, and he had no time to think further.
He released Lord Ling's hand, brought his two palms together, and thrust them forward. One Breath of Primordial Chaos—the Dao wanders together!
His palms collided with the two great hands of the Great Emperor's primordial spirit; the divine abilities of both erupted.
With a swish, Shen Mu's black hair streamed out, and the baleful blood-aura of the entire God-Slaying Platform howled upward like a waterfall, shooting straight into the clouds!
Opposing him, the Great Emperor's primordial spirit withdrew its hands and forced its way into the Heavenly Emperor's body, trying once more to seize control.
Shen Mu was strong, and could be counted as its match; but once it took command of the Heavenly Emperor's body, even ten Shen Mus attacking together could be slaughtered by a single stroke! At that very moment, the God-Slaying Mystic Saber flew up and slashed at it. The Great Emperor's primordial spirit frowned, ignored the blade-light, and forced itself into the Heavenly Emperor's body.
To its astonishment, it had only managed to squeeze half of itself inside when Shen Mu pointed at the brow of the Heavenly Emperor's body and murmured: "Fixed for eternity, sealed fast.
" The Unchanging divine ability erupted and flowed through every part of the Heavenly Emperor's body. Lord Ling's eyes brightened, and she praised: "That was a fine use of the Unchanging divine ability!
" The Great Emperor's primordial spirit had bored into the Heavenly Emperor's body; the Unchanging divine ability then took effect, and with a flash of light, half its spirit popped back out of the Heavenly Emperor's body.
As for the other half of its spirit, it was still inside the Heavenly Emperor's body. The Great Emperor's primordial spirit was aghast. It tried once more to enter the Heavenly Emperor's body, but the result was still the same: still affected by the Unchanging divine ability, the other half of its spirit hung exposed outside.
"You taught me well," Shen Mu said modestly.
The saber in his hand, however, was utterly merciless, and slashed at the Great Emperor's primordial spirit!
His use of the Unchanging divine ability was indeed remarkable. What he had unleashed was not the complete Unchanging divine ability, but only a fragment of it, so that he himself would not fall into the predicament of being transformed into Unchanging matter.
But even a fragment of the Unchanging divine ability was enough to trap the Great Emperor's primordial spirit to its death!
The Great Emperor's primordial spirit grew ever more frantic. Controlling half of the Heavenly Emperor's body, it blocked the blade-light Shen Mu sent at it.
A single colossal crash sounded; Shen Mu's body shook mightily.
He pulled Lord Ling along and retreated at flying speed, dodging the divine spear the Great Emperor thrust at him!
Ssss— The surface of the Celestial River blasted apart. The might of the divine spear surged forth, vast and overwhelming, actually tearing the Celestial River asunder.
