Chapter 1735 — Outwitted by His Own Schemes
The Herdsman of the Wasteland · Page 4 of 4
There were the other three clones of Palace Lord Lingguan, two clones bearing Dao Fruit and one clone bearing a Dao Flower, rushing madly toward the Ancestral Court!
The fastest clone had already descried the Ancestral Court in the distance!
Shen Mu shook his sleeve, and the three souls of the Lingguan clone shattered! He rose tall and tore through the air away!
Western Emperor White Tiger saw his weariness and at once raised her horn and blew with all her might.
Doo-doo— Amid the horn, Shen Mu's blood and qi surged severalfold.
Yue Tingge, Long Qilin, and Western Emperor White Tiger looked up to see a purple teleportation formation tens of thousands of li across suddenly appear in the sky, intricate beyond compare.
The formation turned abruptly, and with a thunderous roar, formation and Shen Mu vanished together without a trace!
"Heavenly Worthy Mu looks utterly exhausted.
I wonder if he can catch those three clones?
" Yue Tingge wore worry on his face.
Two clones of Palace Lord Lingguan both bore his own Dao Fruit, and the other bore a Dao Flower as well, their power far beyond what the other clones could match. Shen Mu had plainly made a long forced march, his flesh and his magic power both hugely spent. With a weary body, even if he overtook the three great clones of Palace Lord Lingguan, he would likely meet them waiting rested for the toil-worn!
"With his speed, from here to the Ancestral Court, even folding space and adding teleportation formations and running at full strength, I fear it will take five or six days.
" Yue Tingge calculated a moment and said low: "And in five or six days, I fear Lingguan's first clone will long have reached the World Tree of the Ancestral Court! He cannot possibly arrive in time.
. .
" Four days later, night hung hazy over the Ancestral Court. Morning had not yet come, though the east had paled.
Xu Shenghua looked up and watched Taiyi's Dao Tree vanish into the Ultimate Void, then took up his iron pail and walked down from the World Tree to mend the split peaks on the rim of the Great Black Mountain. Even though the Yuan Realm had been thrown into killing until heaven went dark and earth overturned, beneath the World Tree of the Ancestral Court all was still peace.
Xu Shenghua was as peaceful as the morning of the World Tree, carrying his pail, unhurried, coming to the rim of the Great Black Mountain.
All that night, beyond the Great Black Mountain, heaven had been murky and earth dark, a dreadful vision as of the ruin of the universe. He was used to it and paid it no mind, only waiting for the sun to rise.
When the hour of sunrise came, all would be restored.
At last the sun rose, the first ray spilling upon the World Tree, and in his sight range upon range of the Great Black Mountain grew clear. Xu Shenghua, pail in hand, stood atop a split cliff and saw beyond the black mountains an ancient god approaching, a Dao Fruit hanging high above his head, spinning round and round.
