Chapter 23 — It's Raining in the Bathroom

"How about you two come in and watch as well?" Zhong Yongliang said after a moment's hesitation.
"But that's the men's room!" Shen Yushu pointed at the big "Men" character above the door. "Little Liangzi, you're not trying to get us to break the rules, are you?"
Zhong Yongliang was none too pleased at being called "Little Liangzi," but there was nothing he could do about it. He forced a smile. "It's fine — everyone's out doing morning exercises, who'd be using the bathroom at this hour? We're going in first."
Fearing that Wei Zhao would hide in a stall and lock himself in, Zhong Yongliang hurried into the bathroom with Zhang Naipao and Gao Xiaofu.
"Yaoyao, how about we go in too?" Shen Yushu was not about to miss this spectacle. She still wanted to see Wei Zhao give Zhong Yongliang a good beating.
"That's not a good idea, is it?" Gu Mengyao hesitated; after all, she had never set foot in a men's room her whole life.
"Oh, come on, what's the big deal? Zhong Yongliang said it himself — nobody uses the bathroom at this hour." Without another word, Shen Yushu grabbed Gu Mengyao's hand and ran toward the men's room.
"Hey—" Gu Mengyao sighed. She felt vaguely that this was improper, and she had a bad premonition.
Wei Zhao really did need to use the bathroom. He had drunk a big bowl of noodle soup that morning, and the first two periods had gone to getting familiar with the classroom; he had not had a spare moment to go.
The bathroom was really quite upscale — it even had individual urinals, unlike the latrine pits in the village. In the mountain village where Wei Zhao had lived before, people simply found a spot wherever they needed to go.
Wei Zhao was pissing away happily when he heard footsteps behind him. In the glass on the side, he caught the reflections of Zhong Yongliang, Zhang Naipao, and Gao Xiaofu.
"Damn, this kid really is in here taking a leak?" Gao Xiaofu's eyes went wide. He marveled at how utterly clueless Wei Zhao was — the guy seemed afraid of nothing at all.
"Leave it to me." Zhong Yongliang cackled and ran at Wei Zhao. Yesterday Wei Zhao had landed a flying kick on his backside; today he was going to pay it back. Besides, a man in the middle of urinating was most vulnerable to outside interference — if interrupted, at best he would be startled into stopping midstream, at worst he could be left with a lasting problem. It had to be said that Zhong Yongliang was a nasty piece of work.
By choosing this moment to kick Wei Zhao, he might not only send him sprawling onto the urinal but also scare him half to death. Zhong Yongliang's mouth was practically crooked with glee as he tiptoed toward Wei Zhao.
Wei Zhao had long since seen Zhong Yongliang's movements in the reflection of the glass window beside him, and it struck him as rather funny. Just as Zhong Yongliang came up behind him, Wei Zhao whipped around, gritted his teeth, and let a stream of piss spray at Zhong Yongliang.
"Ah—!" Zhong Yongliang was startled out of his wits; his plan was thrown into instant disarray, and he scrambled backward. But how could he possibly outrun a stream of piss moving like water from a squirt gun?
As Zhong Yongliang screamed, he felt as though rain were falling on his face, soaking him through. The most tragic part was that his mouth had been wide open when he screamed — and so he got a mouthful of Wei Zhao's urine...
Zhong Yongliang struggled backward, stepped in Wei Zhao's puddle, and slipped at once, landing flat on his back on the floor.
"Ah—!" Along with Zhong Yongliang's scream, two other voices cried out. They belonged to Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu.
