Chapter 24 — No Longer Pure

Zhong Yongliang's rear end had already been swollen; now he had fallen flat on his back, with the force landing squarely on his bottom, and the pain was so intense he could not even stand up.
"This..." Gao Xiaofu was troubled. After all, Wei Zhao had a point. In this school, face was everything. If people saw Zhong Yongliang coming out of the bathroom soaked in urine, he would become a laughingstock from then on.
"Hmph, this isn't over." Zhang Naipao also felt this was not the time to get tangled up with Wei Zhao; there would be plenty of chances to deal with him later. "You just wait."
"Whatever." Wei Zhao shrugged indifferently and strode out of the men's bathroom.
"What the hell are you two standing around for? Get over here and help me up!" Zhong Yongliang had not felt much of anything at first, but after Wei Zhao said that, he got scared too — he couldn't afford such humiliation.
"Bro Liang, your clothes..." Zhang Naipao looked at the soaking-wet Zhong Yongliang with disgust. This was, after all, not water but urine. Helping him up would be like smearing a handful of piss all over his own hands.
Gao Xiaofu had the same thought. Several times he reached out his hand, only to stop midair.
"What, too dirty for you?" Zhong Yongliang frowned at once and, feeling displeased, reached out and grabbed a handful of Zhang Naipao and Gao Xiaofu each. In an instant, the two were covered in wet urine stains.
There was nothing the two could do but force bitter smiles and help Zhong Yongliang up, one on each side. Going back to the classroom like that, however, was out of the question. They could only find someplace to wash up and change into clean clothes before returning.
The three had no choice but to slip out through the school's back gate. The feeling of having tried to steal a chicken only to lose the rice left Zhong Yongliang deeply aggrieved, and he secretly swore to himself that he would teach that country bumpkin a lesson he would never forget.
For no other reason than that Wei Zhao had exposed his manhood in front of Gu Mengyao. That was something he could not allow — as if his own woman had been defiled by another man. Although Gu Mengyao was not yet his woman, Zhong Yongliang firmly believed that day was not far off.
With his family background and his domineering ways, Gu Mengyao was bound to fall for him. With that thought, Zhong Yongliang felt somewhat better.
When Wei Zhao returned to the classroom, the recess exercises were still not over. Back in the mountains, when he had first heard the term "jiancao," his initial reaction had been: No way — the big city really is something else. The students at school actually do that kind of thing during class breaks? And the school even officially sets aside time for it?
Later, of course, Wei Zhao discovered he had misunderstood. The so-called jiancao was simply doing calisthenics on the playground during the break. From this it was clear that Wei Zhao did not have the simple, innocent nature of someone from the mountains; if anything, he was rather dirty-minded.
Seeing Wei Zhao walk into the classroom, Gu Mengyao gave a "hmph" and lowered her head. A moment ago she had still been praying that Zhong Yongliang and his gang would give Wei Zhao a good beating to vent her resentment. But now, seeing that Wei Zhao was perfectly fine, it was obvious that Zhong Yongliang's side had come off worse.
