"Boss, what are you..." Instinctively, Kang Xiaozhuobo chose to trust Wei Zhao. He cared deeply about Xiaofen, but his intuition told him that Wei Zhao would never harm her. So he felt that Wei Zhao must have had a reason for all of this.
"It's just simple acupuncture," Wei Zhao said with a shrug. "For the moment she'll be calm and drift off to sleep. When she wakes, she'll be herself again."
"Huh? Acupuncture?" Kang Xiaozhuobo looked at Wei Zhao in disbelief. "Boss, you know acupuncture?"
Not only Kang Xiaozhuobo; Tang Yun and Liu Xinwen also stared at Wei Zhao in astonishment. He actually knew acupuncture?
Song Huiping felt for her daughter's breath and, finding nothing wrong, was finally reassured. Wei Zhao had calmed her daughter by such simple means, saving her the trouble of fetching the doctor; and not only did it spare her the medical fees, it spared her daughter any suffering.
Tang Yun felt she understood the man before her less and less... Call him a spoiled rich boy, and it did not quite fit; yet he was more domineering than any of those rich boys! When he dealt with someone, he never went soft.
But then he knew the recipe for the barbecue sauce, and that was not something one could just throw together at random. Wei Zhao had written it out in the space of a single class...
And that was not all. Today, at the scene of Lan Fen's jump, no one else had noticed Wei Zhao, but Tang Yun had. Was it he who had helped Kang Xiaozhuobo catch Lan Fen?
Before that doubt could be dispelled, Wei Zhao revealed yet another formidable skill, acupuncture, and Tang Yun was forced to see him anew... He really was different from the kind of young master Xiaofen had known before!
So what if he was different? Tang Yun cursed inwardly. Even if he was, she would never go out with him. Her first duty was the college entrance exam; she could not let herself be distracted.
Hmph, hmph. Little Tang Yun reminded herself: it was all a facade. Do not be taken in by him. Absolutely not!
Still, the commotion in the room had alerted the hospital's doctors; no doubt a relative of another patient in the same ward had gone to fetch one. A doctor came running in. "What's happened to the patient in Bed Four?"
"It's all right now, doctor. Sorry to trouble you. It's all right now!" Seeing the doctor arrive, Song Huiping rose hastily to explain.
"All right now?" The doctor was taken aback. Hadn't he been told that the patient in Bed Four had gone into a psychotic fit and was raving?
"This young man used acupuncture to put my daughter to sleep," Song Huiping added, afraid the doctor would not believe her.
Hearing this, Wei Zhao groaned inwardly. You would have been better off saying nothing; now that you've explained, there'll be trouble!
Sure enough, the moment the doctor heard her words, his expression changed. "Acupuncture? How? How can you go doing things so recklessly in a hospital? What if someone dies?"
"It wasn't reckless... it was just with the needle from the IV drip..." Song Huiping, startled too, said cautiously.
"The needle from an IV drip?" A vein throbbed on the doctor's forehead. What kind of doctor was this? A wandering quack? Acupuncture with an IV needle? What sort of master had taught him that?
