Chapter 350 — Cooperation Talks

Years of Heartflutter Page 3 of 3

"Heh heh, we have a board of directors as well. Although I'm a member of the board, the final say still has to come from the chairman." Baolin had not the faintest inkling that this remark of Xu Yan's was probing the background behind him. Because neither Mingyang Security Services Company nor Mingyang Entertainment Culture Company, Ltd. was publicly listed, investigating the company's structure and the distribution of its shares was no easy matter. "Still, President Bao stands above all others, second only to one—here's to you!" Xu Yan raised his glass. "Good!" Baolin raised his glass as well.

"By the way, President Bao, Mr. Yang Ce—he is...?" Xu Yan asked, feigning carelessness. This was the task Liu Yan had given him, though Xu Yan gave it little thought; he assumed Liu Yan simply wanted to pry out a few of the other side's business secrets.

"Oh? Mr. Yang is our group's chairman. Why—does President Xu know him?" Baolin had made no deliberate effort to conceal Yang Juehuan's identity. Today Yang Ce had appeared on the rostrum with great fanfare, and Jing Yu had exposed his identity as well. That meant Yang Ce had stepped onto the front stage, and the news would spread quickly; there was no need for Baolin to hide anything now.

"Know him... I wouldn't quite say that. I know of Mr. Yang, but Mr. Yang doesn't know me!" Xu Yan waved a hand and smiled bitterly. "It was nothing more than a single encounter. Whether Mr. Yang even remembers me, I couldn't say."

Baolin nodded, giving it no further thought, and the two men began to talk freely about the security industry and the current state of the bank money-transport trade. Jing Yu rarely spoke. Though she was the company's vice president, she had only held the post for a single morning and was unfamiliar with much of the business. To avoid saying anything wrong, she mostly listened to Baolin and Xu Yan, speaking up only now and then to ask about points she did not understand.

This, however, only increased the pressure on Xu Yan. In his eyes, Jing Yu's silence was a sign of wisdom. She said nothing unless she spoke, and when she did ask, her questions concerned the abuses and rather sensitive areas of the money-transport industry, which made Xiaobin dare not underestimate her.

If Jing Yu had known that this was what Xu Yan was thinking, who could say what she would have felt?
