During the break Zhong Yongliang had called home and learned that Black Panther had taken all the blame on himself. Even so, Zhong Yongliang had been cursed out badly by his father, which made him even more unhappy. All of this had been caused by Wei Zhao, yet Wei Zhao was someone he could not afford to provoke, so Zhong Yongliang could only stew in anger.
Seeing this, Gao Xiaofu offered a plan. Since they could not handle Wei Zhao for now, they could teach Kang Xiaobo beside him a lesson. Yesterday on the rooftop this kid had acted tough, and today he had rushed up to kick Brother Black Panther hard in the crotch. If they did not fix him, what were they keeping him for?
Zhong Yongliang's eyes lit up at once. Right, they could not mess with Wei Zhao, but Kang Xiaobo was a soft coward. Beating him up to vent their anger would be good too.
"Y-you... what do you want?" Although Kang Xiaobo had acted like a man these past two days, that was with Wei Zhao around. Now he was alone. He wanted to be tough, but he had to be able to pull it off. Clearly Zhong Yongliang and the other two meant no good, and fear rose in Kang Xiaobo's heart at once.
"What do we want? Don't you know what you've done these past two days?" Zhong Yongliang sneered and reached out to slap Kang Xiaobo hard on the cheek. "Kang Xiaobo, I never saw it before. So you're a hidden player, huh?"
"What did I do?" Kang Xiaobo knew that begging for mercy now would be useless. Since he had already made an enemy of Zhong Yongliang, he might as well offend him to the end. At worst he would take a beating. They could not beat him to death, could they?
"Still talking tough?" Zhong Yongliang looked as if Kang Xiaobo was already in his grasp. "What? You dare to do it but not admit it? Or is it that without that transfer student backing you up, you've lost your nerve?"
To be honest, only now did Zhong Yongliang finally let out a breath of pent-up anger, though on reflection it felt humiliating that he had sunk to bullying an ordinary classmate to vent his rage.
Kang Xiaobo knew he could not avoid a beating today. Dead either way, he stuck out his neck and a surge of heroism rose within him. "Zhong Yongliang, if you lay a hand on me today, one day I will pay you back tenfold and a hundredfold! If you've got guts, come on!"
After speaking, Kang Xiaobo closed his eyes, with the air of a martyr going to his death.
"Damn, still mouthing off? Interesting. Brothers, what are you standing around for? Get him!" Seeing that Kang Xiaobo did not kneel and beg for mercy, Zhong Yongliang found it boring and stopped wasting words on him.
"Brother Liang..." Gao Xiaofu suddenly tugged nervously at Zhong Yongliang's sleeve.
"What's wrong?" Zhong Yongliang frowned. "What is it?"
Gao Xiaofu pointed into the distance, then said in some panic, "Brother Liang, look over there..."
"What?" Zhong Yongliang glanced impatiently in the direction Gao Xiaofu was pointing, and was shocked by what he saw. Wei Zhao was walking toward them with a smile. To Zhong Yongliang's eyes, however, that smile looked like the grin of a devil.
Why had he come back? Hadn't he already left? Zhong Yongliang was greatly alarmed. This Wei Zhao was a madman. Once he got here, would there be anything good waiting for them?
Although he felt utterly humiliated and furious, even so Zhong Yongliang did not dare to clash head-on with Wei Zhao. Damn it, a gentleman's revenge can wait ten years. The humiliation I suffer today, one day I will repay tenfold and a hundredfold!
What Zhong Yongliang did not expect was that he was now using Kang Xiaobo's bold words himself in the blink of an eye.
