The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2
So much time had passed since then that it should have been over by now, yet to suddenly hear that Lan Fen was going to jump, what was to be done?
"Mom, Wenwen and I are going to have a look!" Tang Yun had no time for more words and, grabbing Liu Xinwen, ran for the door.
"Hey... be careful..." Tang's mother hastily called after them.
"Auntie, what's going on?" Wei Zhao was completely bewildered and only knew that someone was going to jump.
"Ah, a good friend of Yun'er's, called Lan Fen, suffered some harm a few years ago. Who would have thought she would try to jump now..." Tang's mother said this with worry: "No, I have to go and see too!"
But before Tang's mother's words had even landed, upon hearing the name "Lan Fen", Kang Xiaobo shot out the door as if injected with stimulants, chasing after Tang Yun and Liu Xinwen.
Lan Fen. Wei Zhao shook his head. No wonder Kang Xiaobo was so nervous...
"Huh? Wei Zhao, your classmate..." Kang Xiaobo's behavior left Tang's mother rather baffled.
Wei Zhao of course knew why Kang Xiaobo was acting like this, and said at once: "Auntie, come on, let's go have a look too..."
In front of the three-story building at the mouth of the alley, a crowd had already gathered and the scene was noisy and chaotic, while Tang Yun and Liu Xinwen stood outside the crowd, at a loss what to do. Kang Xiaobo ran up close behind them, and with one look upward, his whole body jolted!
At the window on the left side of the third floor, the window was now fully open, and leaning upon it was a girl in white, none other than Lan Fen from the photograph! Though she looked utterly haggard, she still possessed a fragile beauty that made Kang Xiaobo's heart skip a beat.
"Xiao Fen! It's me, Liu Xinwen, Wenwen, can you hear me?" Liu Xinwen cupped her hands like a megaphone and shouted loudly up at the building.
But Xiao Fen on the third floor seemed not to have heard Liu Xinwen at all, her expression dazed, her empty gaze fixed on the distance, no one knew what she was thinking.
"Xiao Fen, get back inside, it's dangerous!" Tang Yun was terribly nervous too and had no idea what to do.
The onlookers from the shantytown basically all knew that Tang Yun and Liu Xinwen were Xiao Fen's best friends, and the crowd automatically parted to make a path to let Tang Yun and Liu Xinwen go forward.
When they got closer, they saw Lan Fen's mother Song Huiping standing there anxiously, at a loss, tears glinting in her eyes, gazing at Xiao Fen upstairs and screaming her name with a hoarse voice, yet Xiao Fen paid no heed.
"Auntie Song, Xiao Fen she..." Tang Yun asked hurriedly upon seeing Song Huiping.
"Ah, Tang Yun, Liu Xinwen, you're here, hurry and persuade Xiao Fen. I don't know what happened, she just locked herself in the room and wants to jump. Her father went up, but he can't open the door and is contacting a locksmith..." Though frantic with worry, Song Huiping still placed her hopes on Tang Yun and Liu Xinwen.
Wei Zhao and Kang Xiaobo squeezed through as well. Kang Xiaobo looked even more anxious than Tang Yun and the others, sweat about to drip from his forehead: "Boss, what do we do? What do we do?"
Wei Zhao ignored Kang Xiaobo's words and looked up at Lan Fen upstairs. At this height, he was fully confident he could climb up unnoticed from the side and bring her down, but that would also expose his skills...
