Gu Mengyao parked in the underground lot beneath the park, and Wei Zhao pulled in beside her. As he followed Gu Mengyao toward the elevators, he noticed the black van that had been tailing him turn into the garage as well. What surprised him was that the van did not take a parking ticket. Instead the driver flashed a small laminated badge at the toll booth and was waved straight through.
Wei Zhao found it odd. Could that van have some connection to the park?
"Yaoyao, who owns this park? Is it public or private?" Wei Zhao asked casually.
"It's a joint public-private venture. Why ask?" Gu Mengyao said, puzzled by his interest.
"A joint venture? Which company invested in it?" Wei Zhao did not drop the subject and pressed on.
"Shield Brother, this is Uncle Chu's property!" Little Shu piped up quickly.
"Oh?" Wei Zhao paused in surprise. Could there be someone from the Gu Group inside that van? Only that would explain why they were not charged in the underground garage! The van was no military or police vehicle, just an ordinary local plate. Without ties to a company connected to the park, free parking would have been impossible.
"It was Daddy's company that invested, but a branch subsidiary has always handled operations." Gu Mengyao said.
"Then can't we park for free?" Wei Zhao asked.
Gu Mengyao stared at Wei Zhao as if he were an alien. Even if she was the young heiress, calling Uncle Qing over a few yuan for parking would be more trouble than it was worth, would it not?
"Heh..." Wei Zhao smiled faintly. The people in the van behind him were hardly short of cash either. Anyone capable of going toe to toe with Gu Pengzhan would hardly be missing a few yuan for parking.
Still, parking for free was a mark of status and privilege, and the people in that car probably saw it the same way.

"This park was built with company investment in the first place, and it happens to be under my supervision." Jin Maosheng tucked his badge away indifferently. "Since I have the privilege, of course I will use it."
"Fair enough!" Zhang Yuzhou laughed. "Besides, since this is your turf, Brother Jin, our job just got easier! I was worried before about how to make a move, but now there is no problem!"
"I never expected them to come to the amusement park." A cold smile touched Jin Maosheng's lips. "I have several trusted men in here. We can get them to help when the time comes!"
"These trusted men, they will not talk, will they?" Zhang Yuzhou asked uneasily. After all, what they meant to do today was murder.
"Talk? Hah, I would like to see them try." Jin Maosheng said with contempt. "They are the ones who skim money for me. The amounts they have pocketed would mean a death sentence if exposed."
"Then there is no problem!" Zhang Yuzhou nodded. Since they were all in the same boat, he was not afraid they would dare to turn on him.
"Find someone clever to follow those three and report their position at all times. Then we will see how we can stage an accident." Jin Maosheng said to Zhang Yuzhou.
