Chapter 535 — Young Master Bing Has Arrived

The Blossom Guardian

"I won't." Wei Zhao sounded a little helpless.

"Fine, then. I'll let you off for now!" Only then did Feng Xiaoxiao hang up, satisfied. But no sooner had she put down the phone than she pumped her fist in excitement. "Yes! Once we're back at school, I'm making you treat me to beef noodles — that'll drive Tang Yun crazy!"

In Songshan City, inside the finest private room of the Starlight Splendor Hotel, Li Cihua stood attentively at a young man's side, filled his glass to the brim, and said, "Young Master Bing, I wonder — has the boss given any new instructions?"

"Oh, my dad didn't say much. He just told you to cooperate with me on this." Zhao Qibing waved a hand carelessly, as though he did not regard Li Cihua — a gang boss whose single stamp of the foot could shake all of Songshan City — as worth a second glance.

Li Cihua, however, took no offense. He knew his place: in the eyes of the man behind the curtain, he was nothing but a dog. Zhao Qibing might be the boss's bastard son, but he was still the young master. Fail to serve him well, and what good end could he expect?

"Of course. Whatever you command, Young Master Bing, I'll do it!" Li Cihua said respectfully.

"How's the real estate company I asked for? I hear there's money in real estate. Have you got the company sorted out?" Zhao Qibing asked bluntly.

"It's already been established. All the paperwork is in order. I've notified Jin Gubang; he'll be here shortly." Li Cihua said hurriedly. "The only thing missing is a name — you'll have to give the company a name, Young Master Bing!"

"Jin Gubang? Is he chairman of the Gu Group yet?" Zhao Qibing clearly had some impression of the name.

"Still no match for that old fox Gu Pengzhan — the old fox had him purged from the company!" Li Cihua said. "But it doesn't matter; it won't hold up your company, Young Master Bing. Jin Gubang put up the money himself and opened a real estate company for you!"

"Oh, at least he has some sense!" Li Cihua nodded in satisfaction. "Since he funded it entirely out of his own pocket, then give him twenty percent of the shares in a little while, and make him general manager. He can manage the company for me."

"When Jin Gubang hears that, he'll be overflowing with gratitude and serve you with utter devotion, Young Master Bing!" Li Cihua flattered.

As they were speaking, there came a knock at the door of the private room. Li Cihua called out, "Who is it?"

"It's me, Jin Gubang." Jin Gubang's voice came from outside.

"Come in," Li Cihua said indifferently.

At that, Jin Gubang pushed the door open and entered. Seeing Li Cihua standing deferentially beside a young man, he was momentarily startled — then it struck him: this must be the legendary Young Master Bing. He hurriedly put on a fawning smile. "Young Master Bing! Brother Cihua!"

"So you're Jin Gubang? Sit. Tell me about the real estate company." Young Master Bing nodded and gestured to the seat opposite.

"Thank you, Young Master Bing!" Though his heart was bleeding, Jin Gubang had no choice. His earlier gambit had been a double loss — not only had he failed to take the chairmanship of the Gu Group, he had been purged from the company. Now every last asset in his hands had gone into founding this real estate company; the moment he walked out of this private room, he would be penniless.

"Cihua, tell him what I just said, so he knows where he stands," Zhao Qibing ordered Li Cihua.

Li Cihua nodded. "Old Jin, Young Master Bing is a good master. He'll never treat loyal subordinates like us shabbily!"

"Yes! Yes!" Jin Gubang answered aloud, but inwardly he smiled bitterly. That's true enough for you — he won't treat you shabbily. You swindled a real estate company out of me as a gift for him; of course he'd be pleased enough to reward you. But what about me? I gave you the company, and I have nothing left!

"Young Master Bing says the company this time was funded entirely by you personally, so he's prepared to award you twenty percent of the shares and appoint you general manager. From now on you'll work for Young Master Bing. Any objections?" Li Cihua asked.

Jin Gubang was stunned. Shares for him? And general manager? This was a good thing, wasn't it? True, being rewarded with shares in a company he had paid for himself was a bit much. But circumstances forced a man's hand, and to be treated like this at all was far beyond Jin Gubang's expectations.

Besides, he had been swept out of the Gu Group by Gu Pengzhan, and the client relationships he had built there were now all but useless. He had no capital left either; a comeback was essentially impossible.

And yet Zhao Qibing had actually given him a chance — a genuine, unexpected delight. What was more, working under Zhao Qibing had its advantages: with such a powerful patron behind him, the company was bound to thrive.

At the very least, Li Cihua was now on his side of the line — both of them working for Young Master Bing. His own standing would rise with the tide, and then he would settle scores with Gu Pengzhan.

"Young Master Bing! You're really too good to me. I, Jin Gubang, am no good with words, but I will work hard and never betray the trust you've placed in me. I'd dash out my brains and spill my blood without a moment's hesitation!" Jin Gubang clenched his fists, feeling that life was once again full of hope.

"Enough. Don't think I don't know what you're thinking — you want to use my strength to grow the company, and then take revenge on Gu Pengzhan, don't you?" Zhao Qibing said mildly.

"That... Young Master Bing, I never meant that..." Jin Gubang's heart lurched. He had assumed this Young Master Bing was nothing but a spoiled rich kid; he had never expected such sharp insight — to see through his thoughts in so short a time.

"Whether you meant it or not, you know best in your own heart!" Zhao Qibing curled his lip. "But you needn't be afraid. I like my subordinates to have ambition, and I'm happy to watch you use the power I give you to destroy your enemies. What I want is your loyalty! So long as you're loyal to me, I can give you what you want!"

"Yes! Young Master Bing, rest assured, I will do whatever you assign me!" At this, Jin Gubang gritted his teeth. "I am a dog at your side, Young Master Bing. Whomever you tell me to bite, I'll bite!"

Though saying such a thing was somewhat self-debasing, Jin Gubang had thought it through: finding such a patron had not been easy, and whether he prospered in the future depended entirely on Zhao Qibing.

Zhao Qibing nodded in satisfaction. "All right. Since we're all family now, no need for formalities. Eat what you like, drink what you like, and let's discuss the company's development together."

"All right!" Jin Gubang was still somewhat nervous and uneasy, unsure whether what Zhao Qibing had said earlier was a test or sincere, and so did not dare to commit himself lightly.
